How Sam landed a job with a TV celebrity by bribing a jeans-store clerk $50

Sam met American Pickers' Mike Wolfe on the street, then learned Wolfe shopped at a local jeans store. He paid a store clerk named Matt $50 to text him when Wolfe would return, ambushed him on the couch, and pitched himself until Wolfe relented and gave him the job.

“And I go, Matt, Mike Wolf was here the other day. When's he coming back? And he goes, well, he's got some clothes that he's gotta pick up tomorrow. So I go, okay, here's, um, $50. Text me when you think he's gonna come in tomorrow. I'm gonna show up. And so he did that and I just waited on the couch for him and I go, Mike, what's up, man? Look, here's the deal. Let me run this thing or let me, let me help you set it up. He goes, all right, fine. You're in.”
