Indoor plants are the next mattress industry

Sam predicts the indoor-plant industry is poised to be disrupted the way mattresses were around 2010, citing The Sill (thesill.com) as a leading DTC player selling millennial apartment plants.

And the third one, which we wrote about in Trends, my prediction was that this industry is kind of like the mattress industry in 2010. It's about to change. And that is The Sill, thesill.com.

Sell indoor plants DTC: fat margins, hard shipping

Sam says if he had no job, he'd start a DTC indoor-plant business like The Sill. The margins are fat and he even found a succulent wholesaler; the hard part is shipping plants so they arrive undamaged.

If I didn't have a job and I wanted to make money, that sounds awesome. I would have joined that. The hard part is shipping it and making sure it arrives without being all screwed up. But the margins are fat. I even went and found wholesaler of succulents. Right. The math works out wonderfully.

Steal thisSource succulents from a wholesaler and sell DTC to millennials; solve the damage-free shipping problem to win.
