The asset-light Kumon: micro tutoring schools run from living rooms
Shaan pitches an 'Airbnb of Kumon' that arms college kids and 18-year-olds with brand, materials and lesson plans to run micro tutoring schools of ~10 kids paying ~$100/month out of their own dining rooms, no brick-and-mortar required.
“So I think that you can create the Airbnb of Kumon, which sounds ridiculous, but what I mean is you don't need a brick-and-mortar shop for this anymore. I think you could arm people and say, hey, do you have like a dining room in your house? Because you can create a little micro school of, you know, 10 kids who are each paying, you know, $100 a month to come learn from, from you. And who are you? You're a college kid, or you're like a 25-year-old, or you're an 18-year-old who knows math.”
