Turn a 30-year TV library into a podcast: Dateline's 150M downloads

Sam points out that the Dateline TV show launched a podcast only a year ago by repurposing its 30-year library and has already hit ~150 million downloads, charting near the top of all podcasts. He argues every show with a back catalog (even Jeopardy or Family Guy) should do the same.

Well, they launched a podcast a year ago and it's already gotten like 150 million downloads. It's all— if you look, if you go to podcast top charts, Dateline is always in the top and it's a 30-year-old program. And I listen to so many episodes. It is so awesome. And just the appetite for anything crime or mystery related is just massive, massive, massive, massive.

Steal thisRepackage an existing TV/audio back catalog as a podcast feed to monetize content you already own.
